Kathy Prendergast, born in Dublin in 1958, is a sculptor whose work is characterised by a rare sensibility towards drawing. She came to international prominence with her series of delicate City Drawings, small pencil drawings that mapped out the various capital cities of the world. Mapping has been a prominent theme throughout her work, and in 1999 she worked with FADE (then called The integration of computers witin fine art practice) in producing a digital print, Lost map. In 2000 she was awarded the Premio 2000 for the best young artist at the Venice Biennale. For further details please see www.kerlin.ie
